Aki Kaurismäki
Aki Kaurismäki was born in 1957 in Finland. He founded a production and distribution company Villealfa with his older brother, Mika; both being prolific authors, their production makes for one-fifth of the total output of the Finnish film industry since the early 1980s. His films are relatively short (he personally deems it unnecessary for a film to last longer than 90 minutes), and generally present eccentric parodies of various genres.
