Pavel Lungin
Pavel Lungin was born in 1949 in ex USSR, in Russia. He started his career as a screenwriter, gaining the first opportunity to direct a project, Taxi Blues, when he was 40. He received the Best Director Award for this film at the Cannes Festival in 1990. He is best known for his 2006 feature, The Island. In 2008 he was awarded the distinction People’s Artist of Russia.
