Andrzej Wajda
Andrzej Wajda was born in 1926 in Poland. In 1950 he began the studies of film directing, and in 1955 he shot his first film, A Generation, which would become the foundation of a trilogy that would later on position him as an influential filmmaker. In his work he focused on the political-social issues in Poland in the XX century - life during the Second World War, under the communist regime... He received numerous prestigious national and international awards. He passed away in 2016.
